The reading was teaching about leadership and the role of leaders in developing and moving their teams forward. The reading gave a lot of examples that could indicate that General Savage has both the qualities of transformational and authoritative leadership. I do think, however, that this may make him more of a contingency or situational leader. This is because he appears to make leadership decisions based on the situation, and the people involved in it. As we can see, he started off as authoritative when he came in and shut down the bars and was transactional when he punished some of the existing leaders for poor performance.
